WHAT'S NEW
11 Nov 2023 - Lest we forget
We rushed to create our brand new Personal Security course for Canada to help the growing concerns of Canadians with the degrading security situation in their community. This is based on our Standard International Personal Security Training and customized to make it applicable to what's happening in Canada these days. We will continue working on this course and we value your feedback anytime, our goal is to make this the best course of its kind. If you're willing to help us, we'll certainly help you and to celebrate its launch, use code "PST4CAN" to get it for half price... there's also a pretty good deal if you combine this with "Self-Defense for Everyone". Binge this instead of your usual mind-numbing streaming service!
One more lesson is due to come out shortly: home invasions. Until then, enjoy the training, do as much or as little as you wish. We recommend viewing all the [CORE] lessons and then pick from our collection of [OPTIONAL] as titled in their chapters.
Violent crime has exploded this year in Canada and has been on the rise for several years now (excluding 2020), a 39% increase since 2015!! (Statistics Canada). Level 1 Sexual Assaults are up 18%, the murder rate is highest and the age of the most common violent offenders keeps dropping: 14!! Our safety is CLEARLY not heading in the right direction for 2024 and while property crime has been decreasing, we expect another increase in 2024 due to the crushing effects of inflation on the masses as well as on criminals but with repeat offenders released the same day and the rising drug crisis, it has transformed the entire Canadian security landscape.
So ditch the Netflix tonight and watch this instead!! Especially after the latest statistics that came out 😬. The recommended age is 16 and up, but we feel that because the age of common offenders now includes 14 and 15-year-olds, we strongly recommend including them, obviously with parental supervision...
There's also a ton of new equipment and info added to LTT-Tactical.ca/store
26 Sep 2023 - By popular demand, here is our self-defense oriented course. Self-Defense for Everyone is now available on our course platform. This is a part of our Personal Security Training series but extracts the main concepts and lessons to deal with violence. To defend yourself, you do not need any special abilities, you just need to be you... armed with a few critical mental defense principles and tons of the most simplified techniques everyone can do regardless of age, gender, physical ability... You'll have a ton of fun on this course, especially practicing all the self-defense tactics presented.

18 Dec 2022 - After nearly a year in production, our Home Security lesson is now available on our course platform. Our first version was lost in post-production and our second version was done quickly and looked like any other home security video. So we did what we do best, re-do everything our way, sticking to concepts that apply widely and explaining the subject through the perspective of the threat (red teaming). Coincidentally, members of our team moved a couple of times while in production and were able to include some of our essential home security checks and remediation which need to be done as soon as possible… so, maybe not a lesson to watch before going to bed! Get ready for a weekend project and we’re here to help, e-mail us anytime! We also added additional information on our website’s store and we offer our consultation services as well.
So ditch the Netflix tonight and watch this instead!! Especially after the latest statistics that came out 😬. There are commonly exploited vulnerabilities in a home and you'll be surprised how many there may be in your home! Get your drill/screwdriver ready because this course gets practical! The concepts we address apply broadly to burglaries, home invasions, vandalism, civil unrest and even conflicts. Our first lesson has a sharp focus on property crime and is the first step to mitigating the higher-level threat of a home invasion. This last subject coming soon to this course!

9 Dec 2022 - LTT Tactical partners with LDC Solutions to offer GAC a depth of capability in knowledge, approach and a diversity of actors for practical scenario training. We anticipate the use of our very successful online training methods including virtual live scenarios using actors and plan for an eventual return to in-person training. The training we will deliver covers our basic application but will be customized to address GAC's very particular settings and requirements. We are excited and can't wait to begin delivering our training with a curriculum focused on proactive de-escalation strategies, applicable concepts and tactics rather than only techniques to empower our candidates with the confidence to de-escalate any incidents they may face at work, abroad and in life.
Now more than ever, De-Escalation Tactics is an ever-increasing requirement for all services and roles dealing with the public. Like our Personal Security Training, it is a critical step anyone should take to collectively help reduce incidences of aggression and violence and to ensure a sustainable and long-term positive image for your organization. 17 May 2022 - After a longer-than-usual and thorough evaluation of all proposals submitted for Global Affairs Canada's (GAC) Personal Security Training, LTT Tactical has been selected as the winning bidder! We will see a continuation of the use of our very successful online training with an eventual return to in-person training. We are excited and can't wait to begin delivering our training at our partner's training facility at Tirsia Training Center in Ottawa with a curriculum packed full of practice and scenario-based training in vehicle-borne threats, active threats and self-defense. This is the third time in a row that LTT Tactical wins this training contract, making us the de facto standard for foreign services personnel of the Government of Canada. LTT Tactical's Personal Security Training is based on key security concepts for daily life, focusing on international travel in high-threat environments. Whether you are traveling or working from home, this course is for you! Start your training here or contact us so we can design, develop and deliver personal security training for your organization.
14 March 2022 - A year ago, FJA was looking for a training solution to address part of their duty of care to their staff who travel for international technical cooperation initiatives. Judges and accompanying staff are sent overseas to institutional partners to mentor and help them identify and tackle systemic barriers to the accessibility of courts to the public, coordination of conferences, panel discussions and round table seminars on human rights, gender equality principles, social justice, legal empowerment of the poor, development and justice sector reform and more. They travel for varied periods of time to countries listed as "Exercise a high degree of caution" and higher risk levels according to GAC's travel advisories. Countries like Russia, Ukraine, Ethiopia, Jamaica, Peru, Ghana, Mexico, Maldives and China. Unlike many of our other governmental clients, FJA staff travel without support from Canadian Embassies. After taking our Personal Security Online training, they were sold! The feedback we have received from FJA participants in the early stages of the project was extremely positive and thus why they decided to contract LTT Tactical for their own custom Personal Security Training. After they reviewed their custom course as delivered in early March 2022, their feedback was: "Wow, great job! […] It is better than what we asked!" With minimal discussion and coordination, we customized a training package that exceeded their requirements while staying within their restrictive maximum length.
11 February 2022 - LTT Tactical's Personal Security Training online has been approved by the Canadian Interagency Security Advisory Forum (CISAF) for its member INGOs (International Non-Governmental Organisations). They aim to provide direct and timely strategic and operational security support to Canadian NGOs in the spirit of interagency sharing and collaboration to increase the safety and security of humanitarian, development and human rights staff, operations, programmes, and ultimately beneficiaries as they relate to moral and legal duty of care. Our course now fills a critical training gap between shorter "Travel Safety" courses and Hostile Environment Training (HEAT) or Hazardous Environment Training (HET).
This in itself is an honour for LTT Tactical and a confirmation of our personal security training delivery effectiveness. Since then, we have seen participants already in high-threat environments such as Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Uganda. We are seeing a steady influx of inquiries and registrations from CISAF NGO’s staff on our online course. Our course has now been audited by several NGO's Field Directors and Security Advisors for subsequent approvals for their organizations. Staff from Canadian NGOs like Impact Transform, Hope and Healing International and World University Service of Canada have now taken the course and provided great feedback and very positive reviews. We now endeavour to develop a Personal Security course that will be specifically tailored to such organizations in the future. For now, see for yourself why more and more organizations recommend LTT Tactical's Personal Security Training.
15 Nov 2021 - LTT Tactical achieves #thinkificgamechangers status in only 10 months! To some degree, the pandemic was a blessing, it forced change and adaptation. We adapted, overcame and succeeded. With a huge commitment, discipline and working beyond overtime, we got it done and it's awesome! Don't just take it from us though, our students also agree!! 867 of them have already left us greatly positive reviews with an average of 4.7 out of 5! Cheers to the next one thousand!!
25 Oct 2021 - LTT Tactical is proud to support Expedition Qitdlarssuaq - Returning Home 2022 in Greenland. Serving as consultants and trainers on shotgun operation and polar bear defense and early warning. Operations in the Arctic are a different monster on their own. We developed and delivered a firearms and ammunition capability evaluation, firearms training and establish a set of tactics and reactive protocols and related scenario-based training to respond to the high threat of polar bears in the high arctic. The multi-national team of Arctic Explorers is planning to depart from Qaanaaq, Greenland, cross the ice of Baffin Bay and ski to Pond Inlet, Baffin Island, Canada. The expedition is led by acclaimed female explorer Pascale Marceau (Society of Woman Geographers), a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society. LTT Tactical’s objectives were to empower this team with the skills required to mitigate the high threat of polar bear encounters and to ensure they have confident and solid reactive skills to neutralize a polar bear attack. Research, trials and training on deployment of early warning perimeter security devices (using shotgun ammunition) were also necessary and delivered during the coldest days of January so the team could have similar environmental conditions to practice its deployment. Training included the psychological and physiological effects of acute stress (likely in such an encounter) followed by stress inoculation drills and scenario-based training to put the theory into application. The end result is to ensure they can return home safely from their expedition in a this high-threat environment.
11 Jan 2021 - It's here! After 10 months of slaving, our acclaimed training is now online. After much discussion early on in the process, we all agreed we would never put out an online course like all the ones we have done in the past, especially the government-style mandatory courses: click here, read this, listen to that, quiz this, forget about it all the next week. Plus, since everyone was binge-watching Netflix, we thought we'd turn it all into video lessons, something that's enjoyable to binge-watch on your TV.
31 Mar 2020 - LTT Tactical has the winning bid for IRCC's Personal Security Training! With our experience developing and delivering personal security training to foreign services staff of the government of Canada and a balanced curriculum, it was an obvious choice. Feb 2013 - LTT Tactical wins its first government contract. Based on our extensive security and international experience as well as our newly developed self-defense system, we are excited to deliver Day 2 of this training, the practical hands-on portion where we look at the worst threats and the highest risks. This training is also based in our instructor's hard lessons learned over the years, at home and abroad, as it can apply to anyone anywhere. Our principles-based approach is easy to understand and apply by all.
